The partners of Gibson & Co are pleased to announce that private client senior associate David Bawn has been asked to join the partnership. 

David joined the firm in 2008 and has overseen a considerable expansion in the scope of private client work the firm undertakes.  He has spearheaded a system of providing a "wills surgery", most notably to barristers' chambers in London, whereby he attends and offers on the spot advice and assistance, to be followed up by the drafting of a will if required.  As a qualified TEP (Trusts and Estates Practitioner) he can offer clients quality expert advice in all aspects of private client law, particularly in the important fields of Wills and Probate.  

Partner Jane Gibson said "We have been impressed by the way David has been delivering a quality service to our clients, and are confident that as a partner he will continue to provide that excellent service." 

David said "I am honoured that Partners have shown such faith in me, and I am determined to work to continue to expand the Private Client Service we can offer our clients." 

Gibson & Co is based in Newcastle upon Tyne and Hexham, Northumberland.  It is the oldest practice in the country to have been continuously run by the same family.  Our earliest Will dates back to 1715 and so the firm has been in existence since at least that date.  Toby and Jane joined a firm with a strong and growing private client practice, run by Toby’s father, Tony (who sits as Chair of the Solicitors’ Disciplinary Tribunal) and Toby’s uncle Derwent.  The private client practice continues to flourish, acting principally for local families, for many of whom we have been acting for centuries.
